Show Notes

Is your pelvic floor holding you back?

Do you ever leak when you exercise? Feel a sense of urgency to pee?

Let’s learn more about looking after the unsung heroes that are your pelvic floor muscles.

In this episode pelvic floor expert, physiotherapist Beck Sabine of Vital Core Physiotherapy, and I will discuss what you need to know about looking after your pelvic floor and no, it’s not just a women’s issue. The pelvic floor muscles are a group of muscles that span the space between the pubic bone and the coccyx. They are responsible for supporting all the pelvic organs, they’re important for going to the toilet and for healthy sexual function.

Beck is a very keen runner so one of her passions is helping people with pelvic floor issues get back to exercise. The good news is that with the right diagnosis, most pelvic floor problems can be rectified. Beck explains this with her trademark optimism and problem solving mindset.

We also discuss how to approach return to exercise postpartum so if you’re a new Mum, this episode will have some gems of information especially for you.
